Missions: The Basis for the Bible
March 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
When: The first 3 Thursdays in March (4, 11, 18) at 7:00-8:30 pm concurrently at Mission Hills campus and on Zoom.
This is a 3-part series to consider the viewpoint that the Bible is the basis for world missions. Is this a peripheral or mainstream concept in Scripture? Is God inherently a missionary God? How we understand this will shape not only our current understanding of our world but also how we can participate with God in his working in this world even now.
In this series, we will present the revelation of Scripture as the epoch story of God in human history that encompasses not only creation and the multiplication of humanity, but also the role of the patriarchs, the descendants of Abraham (Israel), the ministry of the Messiah, and the emerging birth of a church-planting movement that has multiplied throughout the centuries.
This series will lay out foundational understandings for the upcoming 6-week MHC missions course that will begin after Easter on Thursday nights:
Pathlight: Toward Global Awareness
Instructor: Bill Comstock – he has participated in several of the missions courses Perspectives on the World Christian Movement (biblical, historical, strategic, cultural perspectives) over the years. His understanding for the church both locally and globally was shaped through this course.
