Woman to Woman Mentoring was born out of our desire for Mission Hills Church to minister to women either one on one or in very small groups.
We are a group of women who love to come alongside other women to strengthen, encourage, affirm and support them as they grow in their faith in Jesus. We do this by pairing a trained Mentor with a woman desiring to be mentored. The Mentors role is to be a friend, a spiritual guide, and a prayer partner to whomever she is mentoring. We desire to help women make strong connections within our church family. We believe every woman would benefit from having a Mentor! We would love to connect with you. You can reach by completing the form or by calling the church office and ask to be connected with Women’s Mentoring.
Goals of the Mentoring Ministry
To encourage growth in the Mentee's relationship with God through:
- Prayer, individually and with others
- The Bible, in knowledge, understanding, and application
- Fellowship, demonstrating the love an grace of Jesus in relating to family, friends, co-workers, and others.
What can you expect?
A godly rode model, a confidante, a listener, a prayer partner, a Christian friend, an encourager, a sister in Christ, an accountability partner, someone to give you a godly perspective and someone who is consistent.
What can you not expect?
A mom replacement, a fixer, someone who makes choices for you, a professional counselor, a Bible scholar ( though she will probably be quite knowledgeable), a “best friend” (although friendship is certainly an element of being a Mentor), someone who has all the answers (although she can direct you to the One who does) and finally, she will not be perfect.
Mentor Training Opportunity
We also love to train women to be Mentors. We offer annual Mentor training that is a weekly class that runs for about 4 months. The training takes you through two books to prepare you to be a Mentor. We desire for our Mentors to be equipped to serve their Mentees well, with love and graciousness. Throughout the year we continue to offer our Mentors various opportunities to grow. We have periodic gatherings for fellowship and prayer.
